Ignition Condensers (also known as capacitors) work hand in hand with "points ignition" systems. The condenser is matched to the inductance of the coil and the ignition system in order for the contact points to work optimally. Since many legacy 12 volt ignition systems use generic coils that have similar inductance, the condensers that are sold are usually compatible with most systems. In antique, agricultural, and race applications, is is wise to find the exact condenser for the application or very similar. Almost all condensers are now made overseas. The most common categories of ignition condensers are Antique, Classic Auto, Agricultural, and Racing.
